I have been growing my own herbs at home and it has been a gamechanger. I guess the benefits of growing your own food are manifold:

  1. Better for health - fewer pesticides used at home contribute to better health not to mention the mental health benefits of engaging in a rewarding activity with nature.
  2. Better for the planet - less food waste, no packaging waste (especially plastics), and fewer carbon emissions from transportation make this an obvious winner!
  3. Better for the wallet - the high yield from the seeds used ensures a handsome return on investment, along with the cost savings from buying produce from your supermarket.

You can grow your own food both indoors and outdoors - this includes vegetables, herbs & fruits. Be sure to choose the plants you wish to grow carefully. It is important to select the right location in the garden or inside your home with adequate sunlight and ensure proportionate watering at the right frequency (as required). You might also need to invest in fertilisers, gardening tools, and watering cans.
